National Security Committee in its meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair reviewed Pak- Afghan situation. The committee reiterated Pakistan’s deep interest for the establishment of long-lasting peace in Afghanistan. It was stressed in the meeting that it was high time to work seriously and consistently in Afghanistan. The committee condemning continued to ceasefire violations by Indian forces along with Line of Control and Working Boundary, said that 400 ceasefire violations have been carried out by Indian forces in 2018, and resultantly a number of civilians have been martyred and others injured. The committee observed that India is trying to deviate international attention towards human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir by carrying out ceasefire violations.
India should prioritize peace. It was agreed in the meeting that war against terrorism will be continued.
On the other hand, a 13-year boy was martyred and three others injured by the unprovoked firing of Indian forces at Nikial sector. The firing remained continued for two hours that was befittingly responded by Pakistani forces. Amnesty International has also written a letter to Secretary-General of United Nations to take notice of ceasefire violations of Indian forces. It has been said in the letter that Indian forces are resorting unprovoked firing on innocent citizens at the line of control. It said school students are being targeted by Indian forces which is an open violation of human rights. India is exerting human rights violations and the so-called democracy of India has been exposed. It is high time to contact International Court of Justice and register the case against India.
Once against Indian Deputy High Commissioner has been summoned at the Foreign office and protested over ceasefire violations.
India has violated 400 ceasefire violations in two months and targeted innocent civilians, which is highly condemnable and serious human rights violation. At one side, India posed itself a secular and counsel of human rights, but at the same time, It is targeting innocent and civilian population at LoC.
National Security Committee is right to say that India is trying to do so to divert world attention from human rights violations. But the letter written by Amnesty International to the United Nations is a proof of India’s cruelty. It is also the responsibility of Pakistan’s government to build pressure on United Nations and International Court of Justice to register a case of human rights violations carrying out by India.
Pakistan is taking keen interest to establish peace and stability in Afghanistan as a peaceful Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan. Pakistan should highlight its stance with reference to Afghanistan among the comity of nations and try to win international support in this regard. A message should clearly to be conveyed to the United States that only baseless allegations have been levelled against Pakistan and there was no reality in it.
